Students can only see a course on their D2L courses list if it has been made "Active". Students can only enter a course if it is "Active" and within the dates and times controlled by the course Start Date and End Date. If Using D2L for instruction, instructors are encouraged to make courses active as soon as D2L course shells are created 6 weeks in advance of each semester. 

How do I make a course active?

These instructions assume you have already logged in to D2L and entered the course in which you wish to work.

To make a D2L course active:

  1. Click on Resource in the navigation bar.
  2. In the menu that opens, click Course Admin.
  3. Select the Course Offering Information link.
  4. Check the box next to Course is active.
  5. Click the Save button.

Do not uncheck Course has start date or Course has end date.
