What desktop web browsers are supported for use with D2L Brightspace?

D2L supports the newest version of each of these web browsers:

recommended top recommendation

† do not use Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR)

We recommend keeping two supported web browsers installed and up-to-date on your computer. Should one web browser misbehave, you can quickly switch over to the other.

The Survey Junkie app and extension are incompatible with D2L Brightspace. If your computer or web browser has Survey Junkie installed, please uninstall it.

Millersville University strongly recommends that you use a supported browser, particularly for critical class activities such as quizzes. Depending upon the design of a particular quiz, you may not be permitted to re-enter or retry the quiz should you discover web browser problems after beginning your attempt.

Further Troubleshooting

Try a different web browser

If enabling 3rd party cookies in one web browser does not resolve the issue, please try using a different web browser.

Disable ad-blockers

If you have any ad-blocking extensions installed in your web browser, please try disabling those extensions.

What about Linux?

The Linux versions of Firefox and Chromium (Chrome) do function similarly to their macOS and Windows counterparts. Therefore, Firefox and Chromium on Linux should work, but because D2L do not officially test or support Linux web browsers, you may encounter problems.
