I'm not receiving some or all email messages sent to me from within D2L. What's going on?

First please check your junk or spam mail folders. Mail from D2L sometimes winds up in those locations.

The Barracuda Spam Firewall allows all email from D2L through while still blocking most spam email messages from elsewhere on the Internet.

Are you missing notification email messages?

Please check your notification settings:

  • Make sure you've elected to receive instant notifications in all the categories you'd like.
  • Also confirm that you have not accidentally opted out of notifications from a course from which you'd like them.

Are you a Millersville faculty or staff member who is taking classes in D2L?

Please check your faculty/staff email account. D2L will send your email there, not to your student email account.

Do you use a guest (-g) account to access D2L? Do you additionally use a Comcast email address with that account?

Other Problems

If you still cannot find email messages you know were sent to you, please contact the IT Help Desk.

I receive an error when I try to send email from within D2L. Why?

At some point in the past, you may have begun a quiz attempt but never completed it. Please check your notifications in the minibar, and if you have a quiz attempt in progress, please return to that quiz attempt and submit it.
