The Embedly plugin allows bloggers to embed videos, images and rich media from 73 sources with just the url. It uses the Embedly API to get the embed code and display it in a post.

Embedding Content

Write your post as normal, putting the url to the content you want to embed on a single line like so:

The following are a few examples, just past the URL into your post and check out the results:

Publish and that's it. WordPress and Embedly take care of the rest. For more examples, see the Embedly API and click on the desired service.

Enable/Disable Services

To enable/disable the services you would like Embedly to handle:

  1. Log into your WordPress Dashboard and click on the Embedly menu along the left-hand side
  2. Check/Un-check the desired services
  3. Click the Save button
