Due to recent security updates the sign in process has changed.
Note: In order to enable all of Jabber's features, you must contact the Help Desk and request Jabber be enabled on your account. This should be done before installing Jabber.
- In Google Play search for Cisco Jabber and tap on Install.
- After installing, tap on Open.
- Throughout the installation you will be asked to accept certificates. These are for security purposes and should be accepted by tapping on CONTINUE.
- A series of three screens will be presented touting the advantages of using Jabber. Swipe to move through the screens and onto the next step in the installation.
- Next will be a screen showing what Jabber will need to access on your phone. Tap on Get Started to begin the process of granting permissions.
- You will be asked to give Jabber access to your phone's personal contact list. You should only allow this if you want to import your personal contacts into Jabber. If you are not sure, select Deny.
- Allow Jabber to make and and manage phone calls.
- Allow Jabber to access photos and files. This will allow you to share photos and files with other Jabber users.
- Recording calls is not a feature Millersville University has and can be denied.
- Allow the app to run in the background.
- At the login screen enter your email address and MU password. Faculty and staff should use firstname.lastname@millersville.edu. Student employees should use username@millersville.edu.
- Enter the same email address as used above along with your Millersville University password and tap Login.
- Jabber is now installed and ready to use.
