Hours & Scheduling of Labs

Hours:

  • The labs are frequently reserved for classes, during which they are not available for general use. 
  • Computer labs are closed during official university holidays and semester breaks. As a general rule, labs are open whenever the host building is open - this principle also applies between semesters and during holidays.
  • Closings for general maintenance or rebuilds are posted at the lab in advance of work being done.

Scheduling of Labs:

  • Students, faculty and staff may reserve space for University-related activities through the Registrar's Office (Phone: 717-871-5005 or email john.sicotte@millersville.edu.)  This also includes requests for one-time use of a lab.
  • Classrooms are available for reservation only when a class is not scheduled to meet in the room. Reservations will only be made between 7:00am and 11:00pm when the University is open.
  • Individuals, groups, and organizations not affiliated with Millersville University must make reservations through University Dining & Conference Services (Phone: 717-871-5200).
General Procedures & Policies

General:

  • To save your work in most of the computer labs: (1) your own USB mini drive(s), (2) save to your Office 365 OneDrive, or (3) email your document to yourself. Save and save often.
  • You are discouraged from bringing children into the computer labs. Any child brought into a lab must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.

Printing:

  • The use of printers in the computer labs vary. Please follow the guidelines posted in the lab regarding printing policies. You are permitted to bring your own paper; however, the number of copies will still be limited in accordance with lab policies. See wiki: Printing in Campus Labs

Special Needs:

  • Workstations for the visually impaired and the hearing impaired are available in the Library. These laptops may be checked out at the circulation desk and have both the ZoomText and JAWS software available on them.
  • To access the Assistive Technologies Lab please contact the Learning Services Office located in Lyle Hall, Room 352, Phone: (717) 871-5554.

vLab Virtual Desktop

Delivering a fully-functional Windows computer lab desktop to your personal device over the Internet! Through this interface, you have instant access to most campus-provided software and university resources that would otherwise only be available on campus computer lab PCs.

Office 365

Through our Microsoft Campus Agreement, Microsoft currently provides Microsoft Office 365 to every student, staff and faculty member free of charge.

This enables you to:

  • Install Office on up to 5 compatible Windows and Mac computers and/or tablets (including iPad!)
  • Utilize Office 365 online for collaboration
  • Use OneDrive for online file storage
