How can I verify that I have Java installed on my computer?

  1. In your computer's web browser, go to Java.com's Java verification page.

  2. On that page:

    • If you see a message like "We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser", please download and install Java.

    • If you see a message like "Activate Java" or "Java blocked for this website" (examples below), click directly on that message.

      1. If your web browser asks if you want to trust or allow www.java.com to run Java (examples below), click the "Trust" or "Allow and Remember" button.

      2. If a "Do you want to run this application?" window (example at right) opens:
        1. Check the box for "Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above".
        2. Click the "Run" button.

      3. Wait while your web browser runs the Java detection app.

      4. Check the result. If you see:

        • "Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed.": Your computer is all set. You're done!

        • "A newer version of Java is available": Upgrade your computer's Java.
