Why do all email messages sent from within D2L arrive from

The email addresses D2L uses when sending mail are send-only addresses. However, replying to these messages will automatically do the right thing and direct the reply to the user's proper, real email address, usually something of the format

When emailing from outside D2L, do not attempt to send email to addresses. Instead, do one of the following:
  • Reply to email messages sent from these addresses to have your email application find and use the correct reply-to address automatically.
  • Look up the proper email address using the Faculty & Staff Search tool or the Student Directory Search widget in my'VILLE.

D2L uses send-only, email addresses to avoid problems with spam filters catching and preventing the delivery of messages sent from the system.
