How do I let students see how they scored on a quiz?

A “Submission View” is a set of information shared with students upon completion of a quiz.  When a quiz is created, the default submission view is set to display the message “Your quiz has been submitted successfully” and inform students of the quiz attempt score and overall attempt score.

Instructors may choose to edit this default view, which is displayed to students immediately upon submission of a quiz attempt.  Instructors may also add an alternate submission view which would share information with students beginning at a specific time and date, regardless of when the quiz attempt was submitted. Multiple submission views may be added to the same quiz.

Either the default view or additional view can share

  • questions answered correctly or incorrectly, with or without student responses
  • correct answers to questions
  • question score and possible out of score
  • attempt score
  • quiz statistics such as class average and score distribution

Please note: if an instructor leaves feedback for individual questions, the submission view must allow for students to view both questions with student responses and question answers in order for students to see feedback left at those questions.
