Every time I use a Java-based tool, Firefox asks if I want to run that tool. How can I configure Firefox to always run Java?

  1. In Firefox, open the menu. In the image below, the "Open Menu" button is indicated with a red rectangle.

  2. From the menu that opens, select "Add-ons". In the image below, the "Add-ons" option is indicated with a red rectangle.

  3. In the Add-ons Manager tab that opens, select "Plugins". In the image below, the "Plugins" option is indicated with a red rectangle.

  4. In the Plugins list, locate "Java(TM) Platform" or "Java Applet Plug-in". Firefox on your computer will have one or other of these two plugins, but not both. In the images below, the two plugins are indicated with red rectangles.

  5. For "Java(TM) Platform" or "Java Applet Plug-in", click "Ask to Activate". In the images below, "Ask to Activate" is indicated with red rectangles.

  6. From the menu that opens, select "Always Activate". In the images below, "Always Activate" is indicated with red rectangles.

  7. Close the Add-ons Manager tab.
