How may I record a webcam video and include it within a course?

These instructions assume you have already logged in to D2L and entered the course in which you wish to work.

Webcam videos may be recorded and added any place the HTML Editor is available.

  1. In the HTML Editor's toolbar, click the "Insert Stuff" button ( ).
  2. In the left column of the Insert Stuff window that appears, click " My Media".
  3. Click "Add New" to open a drop-down menu.
  4. In the Add New menu, select " Webcam Recording".
  5. In the Adobe Flash Player Settings window that appears, choose to Allow access to your computer's webcam and microphone.
  6. Click the "Record" button to begin recording.
  7. Click the "Stop" button when done.
  8. Click the "Play" button to review your video.
  9. If you are not satisfied with your video, click "Clear" to discard it and try again.
  10. When satisfied with your recording, click the "Next" button.
  11. Enter a title, description, and tags for your recording to assist you in searching for it later.
  12. Click the "Next" button.
  13. Click the "Insert" button.
