Can I have D2L notify me when important things happen in my class?
Yes. D2L can notify you when activities take place in your courses. You can choose the quantity, method, and frequency of the notifications.
These instructions assume you have already logged in to D2L.
- On the My Home page, near the top right corner, click your name.
- Select "Notifications" from the menu that opens.
- Choose the type(s) of notification(s) you would like to receive:
- Daily Summary - If you want receive, by email only, one activity summary each day:
- Locate the "Summary of Activity" section of the page.
- For "How often?" choose "Daily".
- Set the time you would D2L to email you the summary each day.
- Instant Notifications - If you want to receive, by email or SMS (text message), notifications of class activities as they happen:
- If you want to receive instant notifications by SMS (text message):
- Locate the "Contact Methods" section near the top of the page.
- Under Contact Methods:
- Click the "Register your mobile" link.
- Select, or confirm correct, your country, mobile carrier, and mobile phone number.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Locate the "Instant Notifications" section of the page.
- Under Instant Notifications:
- Check the boxes appropriate to the types and methods of notification you want:
- Email for email messages
- SMS for text messages
- If you want to receive instant notifications by SMS (text message):
- Daily Summary - If you want receive, by email only, one activity summary each day:
- Locate the "Customize Notifications" section of the page.
- Under Customize Notifications, check and uncheck boxes to:
- include/not include actual grade values in notifications about grades
- receive/not receive notifications from past, future, or inactive courses
- (optional) Choose to receive notifications from some courses but not from others.
- Click the "Save" button.
