How do I create a rubric for assessing student work in D2L?

These instructions assume you have already logged in to D2L and entered the course in which you wish to work.

First go to the Rubrics tool.

Second create either an analytic or a holistic type rubric.

  • Analytic rubrics may be set to have "No Score", "Points" (every criteria is worth same number of points) or "Custom Points" (criteria may be worth different points from other criteria).
  • Holistic rubrics may be set to have "No Score" or "Percentage"

Third attach a rubric to an existing activity.

Create a Weighted or "Custom Points" Analytic Rubric where different criteria have different point values.

Create an Analytic Rubric to evaluate learners based on multiple criteria.

Create a Holistic Rubric to evaluate learners based on a single criteria
