Initial Incident

Thursday, 17 April 2014, at 2:17 p.m. Eastern:

Desire2Learn has issued a support bulletin concerning a database problem at their data center. This problem is disrupting normal use of the Desire2Learn system and led to the system being completely unavailable for several minutes around 2 p.m. Eastern.

Though the Desire2Learn system is available again now, you may experience slower than normal response times or even error messages as you use it. Desire2Learn technicians are working on the problem.

Incident: The D2L Network Operations Center (NOC) advises that a database event in your data center is impacting access for clients.
End User Impact: End users may experience slow performance or error messages while accessing their Learning Environment.
Status: SaaS Operations is currently investigating

Technicians at the Desire2Learn data center have corrected the database problem and restored normal system operation.

Technicians at the Desire2Learn data center have identified the cause of the database problems and are taking steps to resolve it. Performance of the Desire2Learn system is returning to normal.
