This page tells you how to move a folder which you are currently adding or editing.

To move a folder, you need the following permissions:

  • Edit permission on the folder you are moving, and
  • Read permission on the folder you are moving to.

To move a folder you are creating:

  1. Click on the 'Placement Folder' field, located below the FolderName field in the dialog.
  2. In the Choose a folder window, select from recently used folders, or use the browse or search features to find the correct folder.
  3. Click on the desired placement folder.
  4. Click the 'Choose' link in the upper right-hand corner.
  5. When you are ready, click the Submit button in the upper right of the dialog.

To move an existing folder:

  1. View the folder you want to move.
  2. Under the More ( ) menu located to the upper right of the page preview, click on the Move link.
  3. Click on the New Folder field.
  4. In the Choose a folder window, select from recently used folders, or use the browse or search features to find the correct folder.
  5. Click on the desired placement folder.
  6. Click the 'Choose' link in the upper right-hand corner.
  7. Click the Move button in the upper right of the dialog.

More information about moving folders

  • Cascade will automatically update the new folder location of all internal links pointing to assets within the moved folder.
  • Published pages will still link to assets in the folder's original location until they are published. See publishing a page for more information.
